Frequently Asked Questions

With their dual 8" woofers, the JBL Stage A190 speakers produce very deep and powerful bass on their own. For music listening in a stereo setup, many people find that a subwoofer is not necessary. However, for a truly cinematic home theater experience with impactful low-frequency effects (LFE), adding a dedicated powered subwoofer is highly recommended.

In a 2.5-way design like the A190, both 8" woofers produce the low bass frequencies. However, only the top woofer also produces the midrange frequencies up to the point where the tweeter takes over. The bottom woofer is filtered to only produce bass. This design provides the powerful bass of two large drivers while maintaining the clear midrange of a smaller speaker.

Yes, a buzzing or rattling driver is a repairable issue. It can be caused by a loose component, a damaged voice coil ("blown speaker"), or an issue with the speaker cone or surround. Our authorized technicians in Sri Lanka are experienced in diagnosing these problems and can repair or replace the faulty driver with genuine JBL parts to restore perfect sound.
